Club Sports Report  2/27/17
Here's what the dressage and equestrian teams were up to this week!

Equestrian: The Oberlin Equestrian Team is officially in full spring for the spring semester! Every rider has been placed in a lesson and we are excited by all of the new riders! 5 riders traveled to the University of Findlay for a western show. Some highlights of the weekend are: Lauren Fries (2019) got a 1st and a 4th, Kennedy Carlick (2017) came in third in both of their classes, and Emma Schechter got a 2nd and a 6th. Congrats to everyone!!

Dressage: The Oberlin Dressage Team travelled last weekend to Meredith Manor for an intercollegiate dressage competition. Highlights include Phoebe Downer (2017) coming in 2nd on Saturday for her test ride and Andy Larson (2019) winning her equitation class. As a team they placed 6th on Saturday and 8th on Sunday! This was Phoebe Downer's first collegiate competition and she's "very excited [she] got to try collegiate dressage since it it such a unique showing experience." This week the Dressage Team is preparing for Chagrin which will take place on Sunday March 5th.

Quidditch:
This past week, the Oberlin Obliviators held practices on the field behind Mercy, taking advantage of the beautiful weather. Unfortunately, we were forced to cancel our Saturday afternoon practice due to the hail and snow. We're looking forward to getting back into the swing of things this week. We are also in the middle of collecting player bios and photos for our roster.

Golf:

The Club Golf team is very excited to announce that we are participating in our first ever tournament this spring. The tournament is on April 1st/2nd and is at the Boulder Creek Golf Club in Streetsboro, Ohio.

Bowling:
Intercollegiate Bowling Team had back to back tournaments.  In Kent, OH we entered our first all womens team in ten years. Maggie Gossiaux led the way with a 203 game and solid play throughout.  The mens team had some great games against stiff competition and finished near the bottom of the pack but continues to improve.  This weekend the mens team travelled to Fort Wayne, IN to compete in the regional finals.  Details to follow…
