Oberlin College Athletics

Club Sports Report 2/14/17

Quidditch:

This weekend the Oberlin Obliviators had a quidditch tournament with seven other teams from around the midwest, including nationally ranked Bowling Green! The Obliviators won one of our three matches and had a great time playing some new teams. At the end of the tournament, the Obliviators combined teams with Case Western to play a final match against the University of Michigan.

Tennis:

OShots traveled to the University of Michigan this weekend for our very first tournament against six other colleges. We placed 7th and had an amazing time! We stayed overnight and competed in ping pong with the other club teams, which we had a very strong showing in! We are so excited about doing more tournaments. We will be traveling to Toledo in two weeks to play their club team.

Equestrian:

The Oberlin Equestrian Team had an incredible weekend at Lake Erie College. Third year Erika Remy qualified for regionals for novice fences. Additionally, the team was 3rd overall on Saturday. Seniors Lillian Van Cleve (captain) and Zoe Ginsberg were recognized and are sad to see the end of the hunt seat show season.

The Oberlin Dressage Team worked hard this week to prepare for their first intercollegiate dressage show next weekend. The show will be hosted by Meredith Manor. This will be Phoebe Downer's first show and the team is very excited to welcome her to the show team!
