Meet ResultsALLIANCE, Ohio – Oberlin College track and field opened the 2015-16 indoor schedule with their lone competition of the 2015 calendar year, the Purple Raider Toy Drive Invite.
The Yeomen and Yeowomen shook off the dust against tough competition in the lid-lifter with D-II opponents Malone and Walsh University and D-III up-and-comers, host Mount Union in attendance.
The portion of Oberlin track and field that traveled to the University of Mount Union were led by five field athletes and a two-event performance on the track from 2015 NCAA Alternate

Second-year NCAA qualifier
Monique Newton elevated her fourth attempt in the shot put to a school record 14.29m (46-10.75) to earn the first victory of the night for Oberlin.
Classmate
Ana Richardson showed her versatility in Alliance with two top-three finishes in the women's weight and shot. She began her day in the circle with a runner-up finish in the women's weight throw with a heave of 15.18m (49-09.75) on her second attempt.
The Eugene, Oregon native closed her night in the shot put with a third place finish. On her final attempt of the day, Richardson let loose a 12.35m (40-06.25) toss to catapult into third overall.
Annie Goodridge kicked off her sophomore year with a victory and second place finish in the long and triple jump. She began her night with a second place leap in the long jump with a mark of 5.20m (17-00.75). In the triple jump, the Boston native sprung to a distance of 10.79m (35-04.75) to conclude her night in the sand.
Drafts-Johnson began her journey to repeat as an All-NCAC performer with a quality second place finish in the women's 500-meter dash. The Melrose, Massachusetts native registered a 1:22.11 in the two-and a half lap journey.
Drafts-Johnson then went on the lead off the women's 1,600-meter relay that tabbed a third place finish in a time of 4:17.27. Cook-Gist,
Rayna Holmes and Goodridge at the anchor completed the third place Yeowomen quartet.
First-year sprinter
Imani Cook-Gist made her collegiate debut with a solid fourth place finish in the women's 400-meter dash. Cook-Gist crossed the line at 1:02.11.
Senior
Nathan Danko and junior
Ave Spencer rounded out the top field performers for Oberlin with a second and third place result respectively. Danko vaulted to a height of 4.30m (14-01.25), while Spencer finished with a mark of 3.25m (10-08.00) to land the first top-three of the year.
Oberlin track and field will take the holiday season off and return for the remainder of the indoor campaign in the New Year.
The Yeomen and Yeowomen will host their annual Dan Kinsey Invitational on Friday, January 8 to kick off 2016 before traveling to the College of Wooster a week later on January 15.
