Oberlin Concludes Final ‘Last Chance’ Meet

Marissa Clardy ran anchor the 4x400 relay team.
Naperville, IL – Select Oberlin College track and field athletes were in action on Thursday and Friday at the North Central College Gregory Invitational.

The Yeowomen's 4x400 relay team highlighted the Oberlin effort at the event. The foursome of Katrina Gelwick, Sophia Brancazio, Margaret Miller and Marissa Clardy set a new school record by completing the course in 3:53.67, however, the time is 27th in the country and will likely have them on the outside of the national meet.

Molly Martorella won the 5,000 meters in 17:28.97, which is well back of her seed time of 16:42.02, which is still good for third in the country and an invite to the national meet. Teammate Emma Lehmann checked in third overall in the race at 17:46.63 – nearly 30 seconds back of her season-best effort of 17:16.86.

Lauren Taylor placed second overall in the 10,000 meters, stopping the clock at 38:14.67, which was back of her seed time of 37:11.98.

Senior Alex Guo still remains 17th in the country in the triple jump as he was also unable to improve upon his conference-winning mark of 47-05.25. On Friday he placed fourth in the event at 45-07.25.
