Oberlin, Ohio – New Oberlin College Men's Tennis Coach
Eric Ishida and the entire Yeomen tennis team hosted a wide array of teams at its annual invitational event over the weekend.
After opening the competition season at Kenyon College two weeks ago, the Yeomen showed signs of progress throughout this weekend on their home courts.
"We have been working hard on the practice court over the past two weeks and I could definitely see better tennis from the guys." Ishida said. “I'm very pleased with work we have put in and the improvement this weekend showed in the results."
On Saturday
Soren Zeliger and
Callan Louis and
Charlie Marks were all winners in singles play. In doubles action, Louis and Zeliger were also 8-3 winners against an unattached pairing from Case Western Reserve.
On Sunday, Marks added another singles victory as he downed Hurtuck of Allegheny College 6-2, 6-3.
Ben Turchin was a 7-5, 6-3 winner, and Louis took care of Patterson from Baldwin Wallace in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1.
Oberlin is scheduled to conclude their fall season on October 15 against Case Western.
