Track and Field Perform Well at Findlay Open

The Oberlin College track and field teams finished their week with another trip to Findlay, Ohio for an open meet on Friday night.

The women were led by freshman Tiffany Henry who broke her own school record in the weight toss. Her best throw was 41-05.75. Molly Martorella won the 800 meter race with a time of 2:20.22, finishing ahead of numerous division one athletes. Sophia Brancazio finished fourth overall in the 200 meter race, with a final time of 27.67.

The men were led by senior Stephen Williams, who won the 3000m race with a final time of 8:56.01. Sophomore Jimmy Taylor won the mile run with a time of 4:30.19. Shawn Chrapczynski had a good overall day, finishing second in the long jump to Robert Tarpley of Eastern Michigan. His best jump was 21-02.75. He also finished third overall in the 200 meter dash, and was only bested by professional runner Michael Puhalla and division one runner Fontaine Holland. His final time was 23.35.

The Yeomen and Yeowomen travel to Baldwin Wallace on Friday, February 10th for their next meet. The first event is scheduled to start at 3 p.m.
