Oberlin, Ohio – Coming off an impressive 2011-12 season and solid start to the 2012-13 campaign this fall, the Oberlin College women's tennis team finds itself ranked amongst the region's best.
The Yeowomen, who won 19 dual matches a season ago, are ranked exactly where they ended last season which is eighth in the ITA Central Region.
After taking last season off to focus on academics, senior
Farah Leclercq picked up right where she left off this fall and is currently ranked seventh in the region.
"We really try not to pay too much attention to these early rankings,” Head Coach
Constantine Ananiadis said. “The fall is for development - results and rankings will come in the spring if we work hard during the fall and winter months. However, I'm excited for Farah, who despite taking a break from the game, has been able to pick up where she left off a couple of years ago. She's a tough competitor and deserves to be amongst the best in the region."
The Yeowomen will get back into full swing after the new year and then return to competition on February 9.
