Hiram, Ohio- The Oberlin College women's basketball team fell to the Hiram Terriers Tuesday night by the final score of 65-58.
The Yeowomen were paced by sophomore forward
Allison Gannon who led all scorers with 21 points on the night. Gannon also added 13 boards, for her second double-double of the season. Junior

Christina Marquette were the other Yeowomen in double figures with 12 points each. Marquette added six assists, eight boards, and two steals. Warlich was the second leading rebounder on the night for Oberlin with nine.
Oberlin jumped out to a 9-2 lead in the first three minutes of the first half. However, Hiram would battle back to grab a 14-13 edge on 3-pointer by Tiffany Shields with 13:43 to go in the half. The first half would be back and forth until the Terriers would go on a 12-5 run in the last 6:40 to head into the break with a 36-28 advantage.
In the early part of the second half, Hiram built its lead to as large as 14 and while Oberlin did shrink its deficit down to as little as seven at one point, the Yeowomen still found themselves trailing by 12, 59-47, with just over two minutes to play. In true never say die fashion, Oberlin did outscore Hiram 11-6 in the final two minutes of the game. Five points by Marquette with a pair of charity tosses by Gannon squeezed in-between shrunk the Hiram lead down to five, 59-54, with 35 seconds to go. However, Hiram (7-12, 4-7 NCAC) was able to hold off the comeback, going 5-of-7 at the free throw line in the closing moments to preserve the win.
Oberlin (5-15, 2-9 NCAC) was 22-for-56 from the floor on the night, including going 5-for-16 from behind the arc. The Yeowomen had 47 rebounds, compared to Hiram's 35. Oberlin also had 14 assists compared to 19 turnovers.
The Yeowomen welcome Wooster to Philips Gym on Friday, February 3. The NCAC matchup is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.
