Big Red Take Care of Yeowomen

Oberlin, Ohio- The Oberlin College women's basketball team lost their game to the Denison Big Red on Wednesday night. The final score of the NCAC match up was 67-45.
 
The Yeowomen were led by freshman Christina Marquette and Kelly Warlich who both had a team high 11 points. Marquette, Allison Gannon, Lillian Jahan and Ashley Young each had five rebounds apiece. Malisa Hoak led the Yeowomen with five assists.
 
The Yeowomen jumped out to a quick lead in the first half, as junior Warlich scored the first eight points of the game for Oberlin. Oberlin had their largest lead of the game at the 10:13 mark, when they were up by seven, by a score of 15-8. The next few minutes would be back and forth, but Denison would make a 7-0 run at the end of the half to go up by a score of 26-22.
 
Denison took over in the second half and had their largest lead of the night of 22 as the game ended. Ball control issues plagued the Yeowomen, as they had 26 total turnovers. Denison out rebounded Oberlin 32-28 on the night. They also were able to have 26 total bench points, while Oberlin had two.
 
Oberlin is back in action on Saturday, January 28th when Wittenberg University comes to town. The conference match up is slated to tip-off at 1 p.m.
