New Orleans – The awards continued to pour in for senior
Joanna Johnson as she was named as the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA) Great Lakes Region Outdoor Runner of the Year, the organization announced on Monday evening.
Johnson, who is a two-time recipient of the award in cross country, has a busy weekend ahead at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, as she will attempt the long-distance double in the 5,000-meter and 10,000-meter events. She broke school records in both events this season, won the North Coast Athletic Conference title in the 5,000 meters, and earned the Division III All-Ohio Championship in the 10,000 meters in meet-record fashion.
The NCAC Outdoor Distance Runner of the Year will have a chance to add her sixth and seventh NCAA All-America honors this weekend.
