Oberlin Athletics Announces Staff Promotions

Oberlin, Ohio – Oberlin College Delta Lodge Director of Athletics Joe Karlgaard announced today promotions of several staff members as he continues strengthen the athletics department’s core operations.

Kiki Jacobs, who has been on staff since 2006 as an Associate Director for Athletics and Senior Woman Administrator (SWA) will now become Senior Associate Director of Athletics and maintain her role as the SWA. Jacob’s will continue to be responsible for NCAA compliance, budget management, scheduling, transportation as well as various other duties.

Natalie Winkelfoos, who previously held the title of Assistant Athletics Director for Intercollegiate Sports, is now the Associate Director of Athletics for Development & Alumni Affairs. In her new role she will focus entirely on raising funds for the athletics department while continuing to build upon the strong relationships between the Oberlin alumni base and the athletics department. She will also continue to oversee and manage all of the Heisman Club operations.

Current Sports Information Director Mike Mancini has been promoted to Assistant Director of Athletics for Communications. He will continue to oversee the publicity and media relations efforts for all of Oberlin’s 22 sports while continuing to add more multi-media options on goyeo.com.

Longtime baseball coach Eric Lahetta has already begun working in his new role as the Assistant Director of Athletics for Intercollegiate Sports. He will largely be responsible for obtaining sponsorships and managing the department’s summer camps. He will also be in charge of marketing, promotions and game management, while assisting with special events.

Director of Athletics Facilities Mike Snyder is now the Assistant Director of Athletics for Facilities. In addition to his current role of managing the entire athletics complex, Snyder will also be heavily involved in assisting with the athletics master plan.

“I am excited to announce these changes in title to better reflect the dedication and excellence of our intercollegiate athletics administrators,” Karlgaard said. “While our coaches often receive Coach of the Year accolades and may point to conference finishes as a sign of success, the efforts of our administrators often go unnoticed. I hope the entire Oberlin community will join me in congratulating our administrative staff and thanking them for their support of athletics at the college.”

These new appointments become official on July 1.
