Oberlin Golf Concludes Season

Final Results

Mount Vernon, Ohio – The Oberlin College golf team completed its final event of the season, finishing ninth overall with 1,191 strokes over three rounds at the NCAC Invitational hosted by Kenyon College.

Rookie Andrew DeCarlo was the top Yeomen finisher as he needed 291 strokes to get through 54 holes. After checking in with rounds of 97 and 102 on Saturday, he carded in a score of 92 on Sunday.

Finishing two shots back of DeCarlo was Ron Rupard who started with a 102 before bouncing back with rounds of 94 and 97.

Jake Panka posted a mark of 298 (106-92-100) and Matt Richard completed the OC line-up with a score of 309 (102-99-108).

Ohio Wesleyan won the event with a team total of 914 (303-299-312), but Ben Smith of Wittenberg was the individual medalist as he completed three rounds on the par-72, 6,493-yard course in 224 (74-71-79) swings.

While the Bishops won today, Wittenberg won the NCAC Championship Series with a mark of 2,705 – edging OWU by just 35 strokes through the four events that makeup the championship.
