Oberlin, Ohio – The Oberlin College Athletics Department in conjunction with the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission is hosting the 2010 NCAA Men's Tennis Championships May 25-30 on the campus of Oberlin College.

The top eight teams from across the country have battled through the tournament field and will now square off against each other to become to the nation's best. In addition to the team portion of the tournament, the country's top 32 individual players and 16 doubles pairings will also be vying for a national championship from Friday, May 28 through Sunday, May 30.

Day one of the tournament will feature four quarterfinal match-ups at the state-of-the-art Don Hunsinger Courts. Middlebury, who is ranked No. 1 in all of Division III with an overall record of 20-2, draws North Carolina Wesleyan (18-2) who is making its first-ever trip to the NCAA Quarterfinals. The top-ranked Panthers are making their eighth-straight trip to nationals and last won the title in 2004.

The second quarterfinal pairs the country's No. 7 and No. 8 teams. Washington University (St. Louis) is making its ninth visit in row to the quarterfinals and is just two years removed from winning the national title. John Watts, who will also be participating in the singles portion of the tournament, leads the potent Bears lineup as the ITA's Central Region Senior Player of the Year. Washington (19-4), will do battle against UAA member Carnegie Mellon University (21-5). The Tartans are making their inaugural visit to the quarterfinals.

Perennial powerhouse Claremont Mudd-Scripps, who rank third in the country, face off against No. 13 Trinity (Texas). The Staggs boast an impressive 22-5 mark while Trinity enters with a record of 18-9.

The final quarterfinal pairing should be another grueling match as the second-ranked Emory Eagles take on the fifth-ranked Amherst Lord Jeffs. Amherst upended Williams College 5-2 in the regional final, snapping the Ephs 13-year streak of making the NCAA quarterfinals.
