Shaw Improves Upon NCAA Mark at Gator Invite

Senior Clara Shaw improved upon her NCAA provisional qualifying time in the 800 meters to highlight the Oberlin effort at the Gator Invite on Friday evening.

Shaw, a native of Roseville, Minnesota, finished third in the event with a time of 2:14.51 – shaving off some valuable tenths from her NCAC meet record time of 2:14.87.

In the 400 meters rookie Marissa Clardy checked in fourth at 58.53, while teammate Amanda Miller placed sixth at 58.70.

For the Yeomen, sophomore Stephen Williams registered a third-place effort in the steeplechase by completing the course in 9:35.88.

The Oberlin track and field teams will have one final chance to better their marks at next week's Gregory Invite on the campus of North Central College.
