Westlake, Ohio – For the second time this season Oberlin College junior
Ben Puterbaugh was named as the North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday evening.
Puterbaugh, a native of Canton, Ohio, needed just half a season to break the school's all-time hits record as he now has 44 through the first 20 games of the season. This past week he batted .615 (24-for-39) as the Yeomen went 8-3 from last Monday through Sunday.
Over the weekend, he propelled Oberlin over Kenyon in three of four games as he batted .818, going 9-for-11 with two home runs, two doubles, four walks (one intentional) and one HBP. Moreover, he was a perfect 14-for-14 on fielding chances at the hot corner.
