Meadville, Pa. –
Late rallies in both games were not enough to get by the Allegheny College softball team as the Oberlin College Yeowomen dropped both ends of Tuesday's double-dip by the scores of 9-5 and 6-3.

Senior Julia Chauvin guided the Yeowomen offense as she went 4-for-8 with a double during the twinbill.

In game one, Allegheny (10-17, 3-5 NCAC) led 7-0 until the Yeowomen posted two runs in the top of the fifth courtesy of Sophie Schacht's two-run double that sent Kate Phillips and Lauren Luther across the dish.

Oberlin (4-26, 1-7 NCAC) added three more runs in the sixth an RBI-double to left-center by Luther and two-RBI double to the right-center-field gap by Phillips. Unfortunately, it was too little too late for OC to complete the comeback.

It was sophomore Kristine Kuchta who spearheaded the offense in the nightcap as she went 2-for-3 with a triple and two runs scored.

Once again the Yeowomen found themselves down early in the game with the Gators leading 6-0 before they were able to get on the board.

Kuchta led off the sixth with a single but advanced all the way to third on an error by the Gators' centerfielder and would later score on a single to right field by first-year Brittany Dawson. Chauvin would add another run-producing hit to make it a 6-2 game going into the seventh.

In their final at-bat, Dix came through again with a two-base hit to left field to score Kuchta, but the rest of the line-up couldn't extend the inning, which allowed the Gators to complete the sweep.

Oberlin returns to action on Saturday afternoon with an NCAC doubleheader at Ohio Wesleyan University. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
