The Yeomen will look to bounce back on Wednesday night against Allegheny.
Box Score

Delaware, Ohio – The Oberlin College men's basketball team could never get in rhythm as it fell to Ohio Wesleyan University 69-54 on Saturday afternoon at Branch Rickey Arena.

After shooting an impressive 52-percent (26-of-50) on Wednesday night at Kenyon, it was a different story for the Yeomen's offense on this day as they checked in at just 40-percent (20-of-50) with many of their makes coming when the game was no longer in question.

Freshman Andrew Fox led the Yeomen with 15 points, while sophomore Josh Merritt added 12 points in the loss.

The score was tied at eight six and half minutes into the game, but Ohio Wesleyan (10-11, 7-5 NCAC) ripped off an 18-4 run to secure a 26-12 lead with 3:30 remaining in the half and went on to lead 33-16 at the intermission.

In the second half, the Bishops continued to increase their cushion to as many as 31 points, leaving no doubt in what the final outcome would be.

Oberlin was hindered by large discrepancy at the free throw line as the Bishops hoisted 23 freebies – cashing in 19, while the Yeomen made 13 trips to the stripe making – 10. The Yeomen also shot themselves in the foot by committing 24 turnovers, which translated into 35 points for the Bishops.

On the positive side things, the Yeomen did win the rebounding battle 33-30.

Oberlin (6-15, 2-10 NCAC) will look to get back on track when it plays host to Allegheny College on Wednesday night. Tip-time is set for 7:30 p.m.
