Oberlin, Ohio -
Mike Loll made a triumphant return to the hardwood at Oberlin as he carried the crimson squad to an exciting 111-103 victory in the 2010 Men's Basketball Alumni Game, played on Saturday, February 20.  Loll who missed the second half of his senior year due to an illness poured in a game-high 44 points.

The Crimson squad got out to an early lead with first half threes from all five members of their team.  They built as much as a 17-point lead, but the gold squad would not be turned away easily.  Cameron Leveritt '04, Miguel Curl '85 and James Knight '01, all connected on big shots late in the first half to cut the halftime deficit to seven points at 53-46.

The Gold team came out of the break firing on all cylinders as they briefly took the lead at 59-58.  Knight scored 25 of his team-high 36 in the frame and Curl added 19 of his 32 points, while going a perfect 10-of-10 from the charity stripe.

Despite the run by the home team, Loll and his Crimson teammates kept pushing the ball for easy baskets wearing down the Gold squad.  With the game close and less than three minutes to play, Crimson guard Colin Sallee '09 hit two monster three pointers to put the game effectively out of reach.  Sallee finished the game 4-of-6 from behind the bonus arc with 14 points.

Chris Broussard
Oberlin crowd favorite and OC record-holder for most 3-pointers makes in a season Jordan Beard '09 also added 14 points for the Crimson team.  Beard's teammate, Chris Broussard '90 poured in 23 of his own for the winners on 10-of-21 shooting; while Associate Head Coach Brett Nichols, who battled foul trouble for much of the game chipped in 16.

The Crimson squad shot 49.4-percent (41-of-83)  for the game and connected on 19 triple-hits, eight more than thier Gold counterparts.  The victors also held a slight edge on the glass 34-31 and scored 22 points off of 12 Gold turnovers.
