Box Score

Oberlin, Ohio –
The Oberlin College men's basketball team outscored Wittenberg University 47-45 in the second half, but an amazing first half by the Tigers resulted in them earning a 107-74 win on Saturday afternoon at Philips Gym.

Freshman Andrew Fox ended his rookie season the exact same way he started it as he tied his career-high from the first game of the season with 20 points on this day. Junior Pat Bernhard dialed in on 4-of-6 triple-tries as he finished a career-best 14 points. Sophomore Josh Merritt also added 17 points in the loss.

The Tigers put together a nearly flawless first half that saw them shoot 64.5-percent (20-of-11) from the floor while going 10-of-15 (66.7%) from beyond the arc en route to claiming a 62-27 lead at the break.

The Yeomen (6-19, 2-14 NCAC) continued to fight throughout the second half and played toe-to-toe with the Tigers, who finish the regular season 17-8 overall and 11-5 in the NCAC.

Wittenberg's stingy defense created 19 steals and forced Oberlin in 27 turnovers in all.

Looking ahead to the 2010-11 season, Oberlin is slated to return every player on its roster – all of whom gained valuable experience this year.
