Oberlin, Ohio
– The Yeowomen and Spartans battled it out on the hard court this evening with the Case Western Reserve University women's tennis team leaving triumphant. Oberlin managed to win two singles matches falling 7-2.

In tonight's early action the Yeowomen were unable to find traction as the dropped all three doubles matches. Losing for the first time this spring were OC's top pairings of Ariel Lewis and Finley Gates at No. 1 and Brie White-Dzuro and Julie Christensen in the second slot, they lost by 8-5 and 8-4 scores respectively.

Singles play saw a match up of Intercollegiate Tennis Association regionally-ranked opponents in the honored spot. Lewis, ranked 15th in the Central Region, left the court with a solid win by defeating Case's 16th-ranked Samantha Lewis 6-1, 6-4.

"Case was better than we were tonight and the final score indicates that, however, there are many positives that can be taken from each of the girls' matches and we will build on those for the upcoming matches” commented Head Coach Constantine Ananiadis.

Rebecca Brown continued her winning ways in the fifth slot defeating Cheyenne Chambers. Brown fell 6-4 in the first set before earning a 6-3 win in the second. The cross court foes used a super tiebreak to determine a winner instead of the typical third set because Case had already clinched the deciding fifth team point. Oberlin's Brown raced to a 10-4 victory in the tiebreak.

The Yeowomen return to the court Saturday when they host Ohio Dominican University at 1 p.m. in John W. Heisman Field House.
