“We need to get some more confidence in ourselves and believe we can play with these teams, because I believe we can,” Head Coach
Isaiah Cavaco said. “We need to work on guarding the perimeter because the 3-point shot has been killing us lately.”
Oberlin (4-9, 0-4 NCAC) scored the first four points of the game and played right with the Tigers for the first 10 minutes of play, but Wittenberg (11-2, 3-1 NCAC) dialed in on eight triple-tries in the first half en route to leading 40-30 at the break.
In the second half the Tigers quickly built a 15-point lead and never let the Yeomen get back into it as they led by double-digits the rest of the way.
The Tigers finished a blistering 61.5-percent (16-of-26) from long range and 51.7-percent (31-of-60) overall. Oberlin checked in at 41.5-percent (17-of-41) in the game.
On a positive note, Oberlin did shoot 79.2-percent (19-of-24) at the free throw line.
The Yeomen will hope to snap their four-game skid when they travel to Hiram College on Wednesday night for a 7:30 p.m. conference clash.
