Hiram, Ohio – The Oberlin College men's basketball team concluded its five-game road trip by falling to the Hiram College Terriers 74-58 on Wednesday night at Price Gymnasium.

Johnathan Nelson guided the Oberlin scoring punch. Merritt did most of his damage at the free throw line, finishing 9-of-13 at the stripe en route to racking up 15 points. Nelson netted 12 points on an efficient 4-of-6 shooting effort.
The Yeomen were once again plagued by turnovers as they had 18 miscues on the night, which led to 20 points for the Terriers. Oberlin also had a rough shooting night from long range, converting just one of 11 triple-tries in the contest.
Oberlin (4-10, 0-5 NCAC) and Hiram (6-7, 3-1 NCAC) played closely during the first 20 minutes of action, but the Terriers grabbed a 34-27 half-time advantage. The Yeomen's largest lead of the game came just minutes in when they led 5-2 at the 15:42 mark of the opening stanza.
The Yeomen were able to cut the lead to three, 34-31, just moments into the second half, but the Terriers would build their cushion up to 10, 48-38, with 12:17 left to play and would lead by double digits the rest of the way.
Oberlin shot 44.2-percent (19-of-43) from the floor. The Yeomen also shot a disappointing 65.5-percent (19-of-29) from the charity stripe. Hiram checked in at 40.7-percent (24-of-59) on the night.
The Terriers bench bunch outscored its Oberlin counterpart 35-16. Hiram also won the rebounding war 38-34.
The Yeomen hope to get back on track this Saturday when they return home to host Kenyon College at 3 p.m.
