Yeoswimmers Earn Academic Honors
Complete List of Scholar All-American Teams

Scottsdale, Ariz. – The College Swimming Coaches Association of America has named both the Oberlin College men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams to its Scholar All-American list. Graduated Yeomen Scott McInerney and junior Laura Fries also earned individual honorable-mention accolades.

To be eligible for the award, a team must have minimum GPA of 3.0 during the spring semester. This past year the Yeowomen turned in the 10th highest GPA in all of Division III at 3.45. The Yeomen were equally as impressive with the sixth highest men’s total at 3.43.

McInerney and Fries received the individual honors for having a minimum GPA of 3.5 and an NCAA consideration time in the pool.

“This award always makes me proud as it shows how hard our team works in the classroom as well as in the water,” head coach Mark Fino said.

All in all, 347 teams representing 238 colleges and universities in all levels from Division I to NAIA earned the distinction based on a team GPA of 3.0 or higher.
