Westlake, Ohio – Oberlin College first-year phenom Kristine Kuchta was named as the North Coast Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week, the league office announce late on Monday evening.

Kuchta, a native of Brookfield, Illinois, batted .412 as she was 7-for-17 with three doubles in six games for the Yeowomen last week. She was also a perfect 4-for-4 on stolen-base attempts.

In addition, Kuchta also helped Oberlin win its first conference game since 2006 as she was 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored in Oberlin's 4-3 triumph over the College of Wooster Scots.

Kuchta and the rest of the Yeowomen return to action on Friday afternoon when Albion College comes to town for a 3:30 p.m. start.
