Oberlin, Ohio – On a wet Monday afternoon in Oberlin, Ohio, the Case Western Reserve University Spartans came to town and took both ends of a doubleheader against the Oberlin College Yeowomen by the scores of 7-2 and 7-0.

Battling rain showers all game long, the Spartans pounded out 15 hits in game one, but it was really just one inning that dug the Yeowomen in a deep hole. With no team scoring through the front three frames, Case finally broke through with a five-run fourth that featured seven hits.

Oberlin responded with a single tally in the bottom of the frame on Julia Chauvin's infield-single to score Michelle Zanni. CWRU added single runs of its own in the fifth and sixth innings, but Chauvin added her second RBI in the bottom of the sixth with a single back up to the box to send Kristine Kuchta plate-ward.

In game two, it was déjà vu for the Yeowomen as the Spartans posted another five-run fourth and never looked back.

Oberlin had a chance to score early on, but stranded the bases loaded in the first along with a pair in the second en route to leaving nine on base in the contest.

Oberlin returns to action on Friday afternoon with a 3:30 p.m. clash with Albion. Fans can follow all of the action via live statistics.
