New Orleans, La. – Oberlin College cross country athletes
Joanna Johnson,
Nicky Ouellet and
Conor Doss were named to the United States Track & Field & Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Teams, the organization announced today.
To be eligible for the award a student-athlete must carry a minimum 3.5 cumulative grade point average and must finish in the top 25 percent of the field at their respective NCAA regional meet.
“These students are outstanding both academically and athletically,” director of track and field and cross country
Ray Appenheimer said. “Joanna, Nicky and Conor are just a few of the amazing student-athletes we have here at Oberlin.”
Johnson, who was an NCAA All-American this past fall after finishing 32nd at the national meet, is a sophomore biology major from Chico, California.
Ouellet, a senior from Dunbarton, New Hampshire, joined Johnson at the NCAA meet after placing 18th at regionals.
Doss, who hails from Albuquerque, New Mexico, also completed his senior season on the cross country terrain with a 34th-place finish at the NCAA Regionals.
All three athletes will play a vital part in Oberlin's success at the NCAC Indoor Championships on March 6-7.
