Gambier, Ohio – Senior
Scott McInerney improved his chances on making trip to nationals by lowering his “B” cut time in the 100-yard butterfly at the Kenyon College Last Chance Invitational over the weekend.
McInerney, a native of Randolph, New Jersey, shaved nearly a tenth of a second of his school-record-setting-time of 50.71 that he posted at that NCAC Championships by touching in at 50.63 on Saturday.
“I am glad that Scott was able to swim well and improve his chances on making it nationals,” head coach Mark Fino said. “In swimming, every hundredth of a second counts so this improvement could make a big difference.”
McInerney and the rest of the Yeoswimmers who recorded “B” cut times will find out their fate from the NCAA in the coming weeks.
