Wooster, Ohio – Two more school records fell on Friday night at day two of the Wooster Invitational.
“This was another great day for our team as we had many great swims,” Head Coach Mark Fino said. “The first two days have been very good and now we need to end strong tomorrow.”
Freshman
Grace Aheron set a new school record and Wooster Invitational record with an NCAA 'B' cut time in the 400-yard IM by completing the course in 4:31.70.
Fellow rookie
Kate Melanson continued her impressive meet by placing third in the 100-yard fly with a time of 59.17. Teammate
Sara Kadi finished one spot back at 59.24.
The foursome of Kadi,
Laura Fries,
Danica Watson, and Aheron combined to set a new school record in the 800-yard free with a mark of 8:01.09.
On the men's side,
Jon Vimr checked in fourth in the 200-yard free with a time of 1:45.87.
Nick Lashway placed seventh in the 100-yard fly with a time of 53.13. Cory Spiro followed in 17th at 54.30.
Rookie
James Foust ended sixth in the 200-yard free (1:47.33) and 100-yard back (54.86).
The clique of Lashway,
Dimitri Macris, Foust and Vimr finished fourth in the 800-yard free with a mark of 7:11.53.
The Wooster Invitational will conclude tomorrow with prelims set for 10 a.m. with the finals at 5 p.m.
