Oberlin, Ohio – Wittenberg University scored three times in each half to upended Oberlin College 6-0 in NCAC field hockey action on Saturday afternoon.

The Yeowomen could never get in rhythm as the Tigers came out shooting early and often, cashing in their first goal just 14 seconds into the contest. However, a stingy Oberlin defense would keep them off the board for next 28 minutes until they added two more scores just before the first-half horn.

Natasha Cohan and Emily Whitaker fired off a pair of shots for the Yeowomen. Cohan also added her team leading fourth defensive save of the season.

Rookie Kiran Puri made her second career start in the cage, finishing the game with eight saves.

Wittenberg triggered 27 shots in the match with 17 coming on goal. The Tigers also took 14 penalty corners, while the Yeowomen checked in with six corners.

Oberlin returns to action on Thursday afternoon at the College of Wooster.
