Wooster, Ohio – The College of Wooster Fighting Scots scored once in the first half and added two more in the second half to get by the Oberlin College women's soccer team 3-0 on Wednesday afternoon.
“We were a little out of rhythm tonight and were never able to get anything going,” Head Coach Kristen Hayden said.
The first Scots goal came in the 19th minute as Liz Mott headed in a long pass Bri Fulmer. Chantal Koechli (68:50) and Kelsey Peters (76:07) would add the insurance goals for the victors.
Oberlin (4-10-2, 0-6-0 NCAC) triggered just four shots in the match with two on goal.
Lori Sako was able to squeeze off two attempts, while
Ryan McChesney and
Amelia Jarvinen each had one.
Wooster (9-3-4, 1-3-1 NCAC) recorded 20 shots in the match – nine of which were on target. The Scots also had a 5-0 edge on corner kicks.
Sarah Grabinski recorded her seventh game of the season with at least four saves by making six stops on the night.
Oberlin will look to bounce back on Saturday when it steps out of conference to host local rival Case Western Reserve at 1 p.m.
