December 17 – Oberlin College junior
Skyler Dum was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association All-Great Lakes Third Team, the organization announced earlier this month.
Dum, a Second-Team All-NCAC honoree, finished tops on team and tied for the second in the conference with 10 goals on the year. Dum, who started all 19 games for the Yeomen, also registered two assists in 2008.
“We were a little disappointed that Skyler only made the second team in our league,” head coach
Blake New said. “However, we were glad to see that others around the region recognized what a special year he truly had by bestowing him with this honor.”
Dum's best game of the season came in a 7-0 thumping of Earlham (10/4/08) when he notched his first career hat trick with three scores.
He finished the season with 48 points and a 54.2-percent (26-of-48) shots-on-goal average. Three of his 10 finishes on the season also went for game-winning goals.
