November 18 – Oberlin College senior
Nicky Ouellet will be making her first-ever trip to nationals, earning the honor after being the seventh-highest runner at last weekend's NCAA Regional Meet not on a qualifying team.
Ouellet finished 18th overall with a time of 23:11.33, checking in with an average mile time of 6:13.2.
“Nicky has been impressive all year for us,” head coach
Ray Appenheimer said. “She has continued to work hard and improve throughout the season, and I am glad she was rewarded for her efforts.”
Earlier this month she turned in an outstanding performance at the NCAC Championship Meet – finishing third overall with time of 22:23.9.
Ouellet will be joining teammate
Joanna Johnson at the meet this Saturday at Hanover College. Johnson is unbeaten on the season and is making her second consecutive trip the NCAA Championships. The starting gun is set to go off at 11 a.m.
