For the first time in head coach Ray Appenheimer's five-year tenure, the Oberlin College men's cross country team earned a regional ranking from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

After a strong performance at Oberlin's own Inter-Regional Rumble last Saturday, the Yeomen were recognized for their efforts, earning a No. 10 ranking in the Great Lakes Region.

“This recognition from the USTFCCCA shows how far our men's program has grown over the last few years,” Appenheimer said. “I proud of how hard all of our teams have worked over the years and we will continue to strive to get better.”

After being ranked No. 29 in the nation last week, the women's team fell out of the top-35 in the national poll, but are still ranked fifth in the Great Lakes Region.

Both the men's and women's teams have this week off from competition as they rest for the NCAC Championships, which will take place at Oberlin on November 1.
