October 13 – For the second time this fall, Oberlin College sophomore
Joanna Johnson was named as the North Coast Athletic Conference Runner of the Week, the league office announced late Sunday night.
Johnson was the Division III champion at the All-Ohio Championships, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan this past Friday. She completed the five-kilometer course in 18:31; good for ninth place overall, while helping lead the Yeowomen to a fourth-place finish in the 19-team field.
Johnson's first conference recognition of the fall came on September 2 after she blistered the 139-runner field at the Case Western Reserve Invitational. Overall, she has been named Runner of the Week five times between cross country and track and is yet to lose a race this season.
Johnson and her teammates play host to the large-scale Inter-regional Rumble meet on Saturday as she hopes to remain unbeaten against Division III foes.
